RestoreHER has a vision of a world where women of color impacted by mass criminalization and incarceration receive gender-based education, healthcare, rehabilitation, and full restoration of their rights, so that they can move forward with hope, dignity, and opportunities to make important contributions in their communities. To achieve this, we need to shift the weight from a criminal justice system driven by perpetual punishment and dehumanization to one rooted in healing, accountability, transformation, and the recognition of each woman’s inherent dignity and right to reach their full potential.
